If you're leaving permanently: Cancel subscription instead
How to Pause
Step-by-Step
- Go to Settings > Subscription
- Click Pause Subscription
- Select pause duration:
- 1 month
- 2 months
- 3 months (maximum)
- Review what happens during pause
- Confirm by clicking Pause My Subscription
Confirmation
After pausing:
- Confirmation email sent
- Pause starts at end of current billing period
- Auto-resume date shown in account
During Your Pause

Billing During Pause
- No charges during pause period
- Subscription effectively frozen
- No partial refunds for current period
- Resume date clearly shown
Resuming Your Subscription
Automatic Resume
Your subscription automatically resumes:
- At the end of your pause period
- On the same plan you had before
- Using your existing payment method
- Full features restored immediately
Resume Early
Want to come back sooner?
- Go to Settings > Subscription
- Click Resume Now
- Confirm billing restart
- Full access restored immediately
Billing After Resume
When subscription resumes:
- Charged for new billing period
- Same plan, same price
- Normal monthly/annual billing resumes
Pause Limits
Maximum Pause Duration
- Maximum: 3 months per pause
- After 3 months, must resume or cancel
Pause Frequency
- Can pause again after resuming
- No limit on number of pauses
- Must be an active subscriber to pause
Data During Extended Pause
Your data is safe:
- All data preserved during pause
- No time limit on data retention while paused
- Data only at risk if you cancel
Team Accounts (Growth Plan)
Team Member Access
During pause:
- Team members have read-only access
- Cannot create or edit data
- Notification sent to team members
After Resume
- Full team access restored
- All permissions remain
- No action needed from team members
Common Questions
Q: Will I lose my data?
No. All your data is preserved during the pause. You can view everything, just not create new items.
Q: Can I pause multiple times?
Yes. There's no limit on how many times you can pause, but each pause is limited to 3 months maximum.
Q: What happens to bank sync?
Bank sync pauses. When you resume, you may need to reconnect your bank and transactions will sync from where you left off.
Q: Can I extend my pause?
Yes, if you're within your 3-month maximum. Go to Settings > Subscription to extend before your current pause ends.
Q: Will I be charged if I forget to resume?
Yes, your subscription automatically resumes at the end of the pause period. You'll be charged normally.
Q: Can I cancel while paused?
Yes. Go to Settings > Subscription and choose Cancel instead of Resume.
Q: What if my card expired during pause?
You'll be prompted to update your payment method when the subscription tries to resume.
Q: Can team members pause the subscription?
No, only account owners can pause the subscription.
