Before You Cancel

Consider These Options First

Pausing Instead:

Downgrading:

Export Your Data First

Strongly Recommended:

  1. Go to Settings > Data Export
  2. Click Export All Data
  3. Download expenses, invoices, receipts
  4. Save to your computer

How to Cancel

Step-by-Step Cancellation

  1. Go to Settings > Subscription
  2. Click Cancel Subscription
  3. Select cancellation reason (optional, helps us improve)
  4. Review what happens after cancellation
  5. Confirm by clicking Cancel My Subscription

What Happens Immediately

  • Cancellation is scheduled
  • You keep full access until billing period ends
  • No immediate changes to your account
  • Confirmation email sent

After Cancellation

During Remaining Billing Period

While your current billing period is active:

  • ✅ Full access to all features
  • ✅ Create and send invoices
  • ✅ Track expenses
  • ✅ Use Maple AI
  • ✅ Bank sync continues

When Period Ends

After your billing period expires:

  • Account access restricted
  • Read-only access to view data
  • Cannot create new expenses or invoices
  • Bank sync stops
  • AI features unavailable

Data Retention

Your data is preserved for 6 months:

  • All expenses kept
  • All invoices kept
  • All receipts kept
  • Client information kept
  • Reports accessible (read-only)

After 6 months:

  • Data permanently deleted
  • Cannot be recovered
  • Download before this deadline

Refund Policy

Monthly Subscriptions

  • No refunds for partial months
  • Access continues until period ends
  • Cancel anytime for next month

Annual Subscriptions

  • 30-day money-back guarantee
  • Cancel within 30 days of annual payment for full refund
  • After 30 days, access continues until year ends
  • No partial year refunds after 30 days

How to Request Refund

  1. Contact support@akiliapps.com
  2. Include your account email
  3. State refund request
  4. Allow 5-7 business days for processing

Reactivating Your Account

Within 6 Months

You can reactivate anytime:

  1. Log in to your account
  2. Go to Settings > Subscription
  3. Click Reactivate
  4. Choose your plan (Professional or Growth)
  5. Add payment method
  6. Full access restored immediately

Your data will be intact - expenses, invoices, everything!

After 6 Months

If data has been deleted:

  • Create a new account
  • Start fresh
  • Import data if you exported it

What Gets Canceled

Team Access (Growth Plan)

If you have team members:

  • They lose access when cancellation takes effect
  • Notify them before canceling
  • They cannot access shared data

Bank Connections

  • Bank sync stops at cancellation
  • Existing transactions preserved
  • Connection removed from Plaid
  • Reconnect if you reactivate

API Access (Growth Plan)

  • API keys stop working
  • Webhook deliveries stop
  • Integrations break
  • Re-enable if you reactivate

Common Questions

Q: Can I cancel anytime?

Yes, cancel anytime. No long-term contracts. Access continues until your billing period ends.

Q: Will I lose my data?

Not immediately. Data is preserved for 6 months after cancellation. Export your data before this period ends.

Q: Can I get a refund?

Monthly: No refunds. Annual: 30-day money-back guarantee.

Q: What if I change my mind?

Reactivate anytime within 6 months. All your data will still be there.

Q: Do I need to remove my payment method?

No, your card won't be charged after cancellation. You can remove it if you prefer.

Q: Can I keep using the app after canceling?

You have full access until your billing period ends. After that, read-only access for 6 months.

Q: What happens to my invoices?

Client invoices you sent are unaffected. Clients can still pay via Stripe links. You can view but not create new invoices.

Q: Will my clients be notified?

No, clients are not notified of your cancellation.
